Heres some great news for fans of MegaMan:
The first few versions of this hack and patcher have been around for a couple of months now on the site. A very busy couple of months though. Thanks to the continued support the project has got, it has gone a long way since the first version, enough to guarantee some sort of re-release.
To people first hearing about this: this is an improvement/tweaks project for Mega Man X6! You’ll have to check the project’s page for all the details, as the list has grown quite big, but these are some of the highlights:
- Parts are no longer permanently missable. Injured Reploids reappear after getting infected or killed as if you’ve never encountered them.
- Parts/Souls/Ranks table has been edited to reduce grinding and having an available Parts slot right from the start
- Fight against Nightmare Zero on Lvl. 4 has been made available without cheating, which unlocks Black Zero during normal play
- X and Zero now share Heart Tanks, Life Up parts, Energy Up parts, Souls, and Rank.
- Blade Armor customization. Stronger attacks. More controllable, less dangerous Mach Dash.
- X and Shador Armor have access to the Air Dash.
- Zero’s infamous Sentsuizan has been remapped and the execution method has been changed to Hold/Release, so you can cancel it anytime.
- Bonus damage against Nightmare Snake (aka Donuts) and Nightmare Mother.
- Nightmare Effects can be disabled
- “Exit Stage†button always available
- Disables Alia’s alerts and other dialogues
- Reducing the list of Injured Reploids by removing the ones that don’t hold any items
- Repurposed cheat codes. You can use them to unlock secret armors, as well as to start the game with Zero available.
Etc.!
And since improvement project can be very subjective, the meat of the project has been making all these options available separately through the Mega Man X6 Tweaks Patcher project, so you can customize your version of the hack however you see fit!
Also, in case anyone else wants to continue from here and use information from this project on their own hacking endeavors (like replicating these hacks on other, hmmm, newer releases of this game), there’s also a throughout documentation of every single modification and line of code written for this project, the Mega Man X6 Tweaks Spreadsheet
It’s been a very busy couple of months. It’ll definitely slow down now, but bug reports and suggestions are always welcome (a new bug will very likely pop up as soon as this is published). Thanks to everyone who’se been part of the project thread, either contributing, hunting for bugs, or simply showing your support!

More Mega Man News:
This V4.0 is a complete and entirely new rewrite of the original Zero Project, thus separating itself from the original version and being more of a ‘base’ for any other future mods intended. While the general idea of Zero being fully playable is still the same, many other alterations have been added to distinguish itself from the original game and it’s previous version.
The new version started back again in late 2017 to fix up many of the original issues and went even further to include many features that were intended from the beginning and then some. A few of the new features included are a new save/load game system, the Frog Armor being properly usable on land, the Black Armor actually doing something for Zero and New Game+!
This project is technically finished, but it may receive more updates or add-ons in the future. For now, with a ton of input from the community, hopefully this ‘completes’ Mega Man X3 much more than before!

A major update for Zombies Ate My Neighbors - The Sequel has just been released.
This update changes many aspects of the hack, and it’s focused on fixing issues present in older versions, rebalancing the difficulty and adding new content to the game.

The first of which is a small handheld, seen above, which has a 2.4 inch screen, and will come with 50 Atari 2600 games packed in. Astronomer is the first Atari 2600 game by Alex Pietrow. It is a simulation game of sorts that allows the player to get into the shoes of an astronomer and observe stars with the world’s largest telescope. The aim of the game is to aim the telescope beam at a star and observe it troughout the night. This is achieved by filling up an ‘observing bar’. However if the astronomer takes pictures of clouds while observing a star, the entire observation will be ruined and the astronomer will have to start over. This can make his or her life difficult as there is only a certain amount of time alocated to this one observer. Once this time is up, the game is over. Just like in real life, the observer who can do the most with their time will be considered the best, but this always will partially rest on luck. Can you get the high score?

VICE v3.2 is released. Yace64 v2.2.0.47 is released. Yace64 is "yet another commodore 64 emulator", which offers various 3D features. It will not try to compete to others like VICE, CCS64 and so on, it has its own priorities, like creating your own "C64 cloud" with the YACE64 server and the maybe first iPhone and iPad App, that allows you to access your C64 server and playing C64 multiplayer games all over the world!
